What’s the Plot Line for Season 2?

In season two of “Bates Motel,” we find Norman (Freddie Highmore) fixated on Miss Watson’s death and meet Norma’s brother, which opens up more of the mystery of her past. Then there’s  Dylan, (Max Thieriot), who gets in deeper into the drug war with Bradley (Nicola Peltz), looking for her father’s killer and then there’s our favorite sheriff, Sheriff Romero (Nestor Carbonell) as he’s involved in everything that’s going on in White Pine Bay.

Season 2 of A&E’s “Bates Motel” brings some cool new “companion” content with it. Bates Motel: After Hours – Special After the Premiere

Those Who Kill Series Premiere

“Those Who Kill” follows newly promoted Pittsburgh homicide detective Catherine Jensen (Chloë Sevigny), and Thomas Schaeffer (James D’Arcy), a forensic psychologist whom she turns to for help to track down serial killers as she looks for answers in the disappearance of her brother.

At the premiere, we also got to speak with Bruce Davison, her step-father, James D’arcy, forensic psychologist, Omid Abtahi, a fellow detective, and Kerry O’Malley, the coroner in the show. Watch their interviews on our YouTube Channel or above.

What is the Series “Those Who Kill” About?

It’s a new A&E drama about serial killers, which take a very special set of skills by law enforcement to track down and catch the killer, this is something that Pittsburgh homicide detective Catherine Jensen (Chloë Sevigny) is skilled at and driven by as it seems that she knows and understands the killer’s dark side and the fantasies that plague him.

Oh No! Another Vampire Movie? “Fright Night” is Like No Other….

You might think “Fright Night” falls into that “just another vampire movie” category, but you’ll be surprised to find it is more and you might find yourself jumping out of your seat.

A good movie starts with a good story… 

“What I loved about the script is that there are really horrific moments that are very scary and also very human moments,” director Craig Gillespie says. “It wasn’t just a straight genre film. Marti managed to balance thriller, humor and horror.”

Re-imagined from the 1985 Cult Classic “Fright Night”

Colin Farrell, who plays the role of Jerry the vampire is such a fan of the original film that he has seen it at least 12 times. How many times have you seen it?

“Fright Night” is re-imagined from the 1985 cult classic of the same name and is directed by Craig Gillespie and has a great cast which includes Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Christopher Mintz‐Plasse, David Tennant, Imogen Poots and Toni Collette. Talk about experience, screenwriter, Marti Noxon, used to write for the popular TV series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

Here’s a clip called “neighborly chat” with Colin Farrell which sets the tone for some of the parts where (no spoiler here….) you’ll have to discover in the theater!

When they turn the lights down in the theater, be sure to know who’s sitting around you before “Fright Night” in 3D starts to roll… That’s the only tip we’ll give you as this horror‐film reveals an imaginative take on a cult classic from 1985, one we’re sure you’ll be talking about!

Have some scary fun for us while watching “Fright Night” from DreamWorks and come back and tell us how you liked it!!.

As director Craig Gillespie concludes, “This ‘Fright Night’ is a great addition to the canon of Vampire films. Some of the scenes are going to be hard to watch, in the best possible sense, but there are also some very warm, sincere moments, as well as just flat‐ out humor.”

Impulse: Short Film with Chris Masterson… he’s not Malcolm’s Brother Anymore

Last night, I had the privilege to speak with some of principle members of the talented team behind this new short, Impulse a film we’re so looking forward to seeing on Thursday the 29th at the closing of the 2010 LA Shorts International Film Festival (seems they are saving the best for last…)

So, the thing about film festivals the process is a long road and … you can’t share clips until after the festival… and if you are in lots of festivals, well, it will be a long time before a clip is out there. With that said, the producers of the film have given us some cool stills  to share with you – a behind the scenes look. If you’re in Los Angeles or a city where this film will be screened, you should check it out. Here’s where to buy tickets for the LA Shorts Film Festival going on this week.

ABOUT THE FILM: Impulse

When deadly events unfold around a small town, a man and his guitar race through the community fighting to stay alive. His perilous journey amidst death and destruction brings him to his final and most significant act.

(Yeah… no spoilers here but I love this type of genre… I live on thrillers, good bad or indifferent, I like to figure out what, where and why and I’m excited to see this one… and not just because of the leading man.)

Now, we’re also fans of FOX’s hit TV show Malcolm in the Middle, and this film has Chris Masterson starring as the lead. If you’re looking for an exciting suspense thriller then come out to the world premiere of Impulse on the closing night of the LA Shorts Fest, July 29th.  Of course, you won’t see it anywhere until it runs the  film festival circuit through 2011. So, if you have a film festival coming to your city, come out and support these shorts – you could see 5-6 different films in one night, fresh and creative!

Just because a film is a short form production, it doesn’t mean there is any less quality involved in the script, or the final product. Think about it, you don’t have 90 minutes Now here’s some more info about this film…

Unusual for a short film, Impulse boasts post-production services from such top-industry companies as Skywalker Sound and Company 3.

Meet the Talent: Writers, Directors, Producers, Actors

Scott Beck & Bryan Woods (Directors / Writers / Producers) are two young filmmakers from Bettendorf, Iowa who now work in Los Angeles. Beck & Woods have been writing, directing, and producing films since 1996. To date, they have produced 5 feature-length films, 14 shorts, and recently secured a development deal with MTV Films, a full movie label of the Paramount Motion Pictures Group.

Darren Brandl (Producer) has over twenty films and 30 awards to his credit, including a regional Student Oscar nomination. Brandl held the position of VP of Acquisitions for The Hirsch Company, where he worked with over 100 film companies at the Toronto, Berlin, and Cannes Film Festival, and the American Film Market. He currently serves as Director of Development for Silver Lion Films (Man On Fire, Club Dread) in Los Angeles.

Christy Sullivan (Producer) has produced several projects with Bluebox Limited Films, including University Heights, which resulted in a development deal with MTV Films. Sullivan also remains in charge of Marketing & Office Leasing at Los Angeles Center Studios, where she has facilitated deals with ABC, CBS, FOX, DreamWorks, Lionsgate and other major studios.
