About Castle – Watch on Mondays at 10|9c on ABC
Wildly famous mystery novelist Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) is bored with his own success. Then he learns that a real-world copycat killer has started staging murder scenes depicted in his novels. Castle is questioned by NYPD Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), a bright and aggressive detective who keeps her investigations under tight rein. And once that case is solved, he and Beckett build on their new relationship as they look to solve more strange homicides in New York – as much fun as one can have with death and murder.

Middle of Nowhere Red Carpet Event at Los Angeles Film Festival

Mingle Media TV and Red Carpet Report host, Stephanie Garrett, were invited to come out to the 2012 Los Angeles Film Festival Screening and Red Carpet for Ava DuVernay’s “Middle of Nowhere.” Middle of Nowhere was also a 2012 Official Sundance Selection and winner of the Directing Award in the Dramatic Competition. This was 1 of only 4 gala screening events this year at the festival and the house was packed at LA Live’s Regal Cinemas 800-seat auditorium. The movie will be released to the general public in October 2012.

About Middle of Nowhere
Ava DuVernay’s elegant and emotionally inspiring debut portrays the universal dilemma of how a woman maintains herself as she commits to loving and supporting someone through hardship. Featuring luminous performances by a cast of rising stars led by Emayatzy Corinealdi and Omari Hardwick, Middle of Nowhere infuses gravity and grace into the prison tale and marks the arrival of an important new directorial talent. Today We Lost a Friend, a Father, a Filmmaker: Andy Swan

Andy Swan

Jen and Andy Swan - July 2010

Today, we lost a friend, a father, a filmmaker, Andy Swan. Andy put up a very strong fight, one that matches his character and spirit and we are so proud of him and wish his family and friends love and support during this time.

We first met Andy last summer at an event we were invited to by another friend, Lee Allport from My Sentiment Exactlee blog back on July 24th 2010: At the Action On Film International Film Festival VI, where AREA 9 Productions will presented “SWAN,” a charity event to benefit the Lung Cancer Foundation Of America. This event was hosted by Executive Producer Ed Bernero and the cast of the popular CBS television show, “CRIMINAL MINDS” in Pasadena.

In attendance, supporting Andy Swan and his family were Shemar Moore, Ed Bernero, and Kirsten Vangsness from Criminal Minds, Al and Zadrina Eisenmann from Area 9 Productions and more.

In February 2010, just as his career was beginning to take off, 34-year-old writer/director Andy Swan was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer, a total shock as Andy was never a smoker. Through his drive and determination, coupled with cutting-edge cancer treatments and tremendous support from his family, friends and colleagues, Andy put up a year long battle and today he was called home. Andy was a partner in AREA 9 Productions. He is survived by his wife Jen Swan and his 4-year-old son, Nicholas.

For more info on the Lung Cancer Foundation of America please visit: lcfamerica.org

To find out how you can support Andy Swan’s cause, his family and the Lung Cancer Foundation of America in this cause, please visit: www.area9productions.com

Andy would want us all to “keep going” and in his honor, we will do just that, keep going.
