You’re Invited: Start Planning Your Oscar Viewing Party Recipe Ideas, Ballots and More

If you’re not going to an official Oscar Night America viewing party (we wrote about them here) or one of the many “official parties” here in Hollywood like the  21st Annual “Night of 100 Stars”, why not get started and create your own special viewing party with friends and family?

Now here’s a video from Katie Lee who demonstrates some of the drink concoctions that will be served using the official champagne of the Oscars: Moet.

Here are the recipes:

Moet’s Silver Screen Punch

1 (6 ounce) can pink lemonade concentrate, partially thawed
8 ounces pineapple juice
1 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
1 cup vodka
1 bottle Moët & Chandon
1 pineapple, cut into rings and frozen

In a blender, combine pink lemonade concentrate, pineapple juice, strawberries, and ginger. Blend until smooth. Pour into a punch bowl. Add vodka and stir to combine. Just before serving, pour in Moet. Add frozen pineapple rings.

The Moet Starlet

4 mint leaves
3/4 ounce good-quality silver tequila
1/2 ounce elderflower liqueur
1/2 ounce simple syrup
1/2 ounce lime juice
3 ounces Moët & Chandon
1 slice starfruit

In a cocktail shaker combine simple syrup, lime juice, and mint leaves. Use a muddler or a wooden spoon to muddle the mint leaves. Add tequila and elderflower liqueur and fill shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Strain into a glass and top with Moet. Garnish with starfruit.

Many of you may wonder what fabulous foods would work well with these drinks? Well, here are a few of the menu suggestions from the official Oscar site: Truffle Grilled Cheese sandwiches, Deviled Eggs with Caviar, Stuffed Mushrooms, Chili Orange Kettle Corn, Goat Cheese Spread and Oven-fried Chicken Satay.
