Mamapalooza TV & Rockin’ Mama Joy Rose Join Mingle Media TV

If you haven’t met Joy Rose then – let me introduce you! Joy is a Rockin’ Mama – not a soccer mama!! She brings her ‘Don’t Tell Me To Shut Up’ Radio-style show to Mingle Media TV, amplifying the voices of women and moms with weekly Women In ‘Her Story’, Inspiration, Mom-Made Music, Feisty Feminist Perspectives, Cultural Commentary and more on Wednesday’s at 7 PM EST.

Rockin' Joy Rose & Daughter Zena

The list is LONG when you consider all that Joy has accomplished considering where she was 15 years ago…. a stay at home mom with 4 kids….

Then days after her youngest was born, she was diagnosed with Lupus, which in her case was life-threatening… Fast-forward seven years, multiple hospital stays and one kidney transplant later, Joy was back and she made a commitment to do everything she could to empower herself and other women to lead better lives.

Here’s my favorite part… She became a rock star… FOR REALS!!!

As the lead singer of her band Housewives on Prozac, her post-recovery mission began – not only did she go out to perform with her band but she was creating a venue for women!! and that’s when Mamapalooza was born, a series of festivals across the country that generate community awareness of cultural, social and economic issues while showcasing mom-music performers and women-owned businesses.

Joy Rose is a modern Media Mom and is a nationally recognized, award-winning producer, writer and activist. A feminist mom with four children, she is a NOW Susan B. Anthony award recipient, who works with MamaZtv Online TV for Women, New York Talk Radio with her show Don’t Tell Me To Shut Up, Women’s Alternative Network, WBAI Radio at The Women’s Desk (New York’s Neighborhood Radio Station) Association For Research on Mothering, Mothers Centers, International Mothers Network and more. Did you catch all that? Best of all, Joy is bringing her voice… to Mingle Media TV. It’s a loving, yet powerful one that speaks up for women, all women and we’re excited that she’s going to use our network to speak from.

New Show on Mingle Media TV: Get Living TV Tonight’s Show is Focused on Special People & Being Judged on Appearances

Mingle Media TV is pleased to announce that beginning March 21, 2010 they will be broadcasting a new, live web show entitled Get Living TV, based on the  popular blog published by Alaina Frederick http://www.getlivingtv.com and http://www.dinkerandgiggles.com featuring topical stories from green parenting to living with challenges and making the most of life. Get Living TV will air LIVE on Sunday evenings at 8 PM EST on the social TV networkhttp://www.minglemediatv.com/GetLivingTV.html, simulcasting on iPhone, Android and other smart phones and will be archived for replay on-demand.

Publisher of the website Dinker and Giggles, Alaina Frederick, is delighted to feature her ground-breaking series entitled “Judging Before Asking” on Mingle Media TV which is focused on the challenges faced in our daily lives; situations that we may or may not know how to handle or what to say. “Judging before Asking” addresses situations where it’s easier to avoid it all together rather than to ask the simplest of questions and makes it easy to understand how to relate.

Viewers of “Judging before Asking” will have the opportunity join the LIVE web shows and interact with both the online audience and the show host via text or video.  The first “Judging Before Asking” show on Mingle Media TV will feature special guest, Priscilla Hedlin, a mother and wife, who is also wheelchair bound. In 1999 when she was just 18, and about to start what many call the best 4 years of their lives, Priscilla was in a car accident and left paralyzed. Her life was changed forever, but she has learned to face it with grace and will be talking about how she copes, how it changed her and how she copes with the stares, gossip, and the way her family and friends have treated since the accident. She also blogs about her life at the following sites: www.wheelchairmommy.com at http://www.hedlin.com/blog/?page_id=628

“When Alaina approached us about doing this show, we were onboard with the subject matter, and elated she chose our network to air this provocative series,” said Stephanie Piche, founder and CEO of Mingle Media TV. “Not only do we want to entertain our audience but we want to provide thought-provoking subject matter and help educate viewers about how we can face challenges and triumph over the obstacles we face in life.”

‘Get Living TV’ will air LIVE on Sunday evenings at 8 PM EST – 5 PM PST on Mingle Media TV. Viewers are invited to join the chat live with Alaina and other members in the audience via text and video chat.
