The Alliance of Women in Media, formerly known as American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT), will honor the 2013 National Award winners at the 38th Annual Gracie Awards Gala. The Gracie Awards named for radio and television pioneer Gracie Allen, recognize exemplary programming created for women, by women, and about women in all facets of media, including radio, television, cable and new media.

The Gracies are presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation which supports educational programs, charitable activities, public service campaigns and scholarships to benefit the public and women in the media. The Gracie Awards, established in 1975, honor programming and individuals of the highest caliber in all facets of radio, television, cable and digital media, including news, drama, comedy, commercials, public service, documentary and sports. We’re very excited to share the list of National Gracie Award winners who will be receiving their engraved statues in May at the annual awards show to be held at Beverly Hilton Hotel, Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. We’ve covered this event for the past few years and are so uplifted to speak with these women who exemplify excellence in programming created for, created by and about women in all facets of media and entertainment, including individuals who have made contributions to the industry.
