“Good Luck Charlie” stars include Bridgit Mendler, Jason Dolley, Leigh-Allyn Baker, Bradley Steven Perry, Mia Talerico and Eric Allan Kramer and Raven Goodwin, Shane Harper and Micah Williams return to reprise their roles as Ivy, Spencer and Emmett.
It’s more diapers, bottles and onesies for the Duncans as they prepare to welcome the newest member of their family. Baby Duncan, whose name was chosen by more than 25 million votes worldwide on www.DisneyChannel.com.
We got to speak with Leigh-Allyn Baker from her vacation in Paris earlier this week. One of the fascinating things we found it is that the series is very popular with kids and tweens ranking #2 in those categories. We asked Leigh-Allyn why she thought it was so popular and she told us that the show has something for everyone to identify with, “even though kids roll their eyes, they want to enjoy doing something with their family” and watching “Good Luck Charlie” is a way to bring families together for an entertaining event.
Leigh-Allyn Baker of “Good Luck Charlie” on the Disney Channel
Leigh-Allyn also told us that she has some similar personality traits with her character, Amy, which include being outgoing, fun, theatrical and even to some extent her characters desire for stardom, that some times backfires.
Being a mother herself, Leigh-Allyn and the other cast members get to offer input to the producers and writers for character development and ideas for upcoming shows. Leigh-Allyn likes how the creators pay attention to who the actor is and mixes the character and personality together to make their performance realistic and entertaining.
One of the interesting things that happens this season is that Amy starts a new venture – a blog and becomes a “mommy blogger.” We are excited to see this role on the Disney Channel as there are millions of mom’s out there who are blogging about their families and many of them are making a living at it as well.
Some more interesting facts about Leigh-Allyn: her birthday is April 3rd and she has a 3-year-old son and is pregnant with her second child. Her son’s favorite show is “Jake and the Neverland Pirates” along with “Doc McStuffins” on the Disney Channel (of course!).
You may also recognize Leigh-Allyn from her roles on “Will and Grace” and “Charmed” as well as numerous other roles in television and movies.
“Good Luck Charlie” was created by Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen (“Suddenly Susan” and “What I Like About You”) and is executive-produced by Baker, Vaupen and Dan Staley (“Cheers,” “Love & Money”).
Just like “Good Luck Charlie’s” mom, Amy, going digital as a blogger, many other mom’s have done this chronicling their families adventures and connecting with other moms around the globe.
