Disney Junior to Debut New Kid’s Nutritious Cooking Series “That’s Fresh: For Kids”

Leave it to Disney to continue take the steps to helping our children learn (while being entertained) with “That’s Fresh: For Kids,” a new version of the popular Disney Junior Night Light cooking series “That’s Fresh.” Each of these new episodes will be hosted by Chef Helen Cavallo, and will encourage young viewers to play an active role in the cooking process and be part of the choice to make healthy eating habits a part of their lives.

The recipes are easy and safe to prepare and include Veggie Rolls, Fruit Kabobs, Trail Mix, Berry Pops and Doc McStuffins’ No Bake Muffins. The foods are “Mickey Approved” and meet Disney’s Nutrition Guidelines limiting calories, saturated fat, sodium and sugar.

Parental Programming Including Cooking to Debut on Disney Junior

Starting this coming Tuesday, September 4th, Disney Junior will be debuting a nightly blog of parent-targeted, kid-friendly, short-form programming to air from 9 PM to 4 AM Eastern/Pacific on the Disney Junior Channel.

Disney Junior Night Light – For Grown-ups

The series that will be launching include:

  • “DJ Tales,” featuring cleverly costumed finger puppets acting out kids’ versions of classic fairytales and storybook favorites.
  • “Picture This!,” a fast-paced series featuring artists and animators creating images of classic and contemporary Disney characters.
  • “That’s Fresh,” a cooking show hosted by chef Helen Cavallo who shares inspirational stories of cooking and eating with her own family and simple, healthy recipe ideas for kids and families
