Dream Halloween transformed the historic Barker Hangar into a child’s wonderland featuring the legendary Trick-or-Treat Lane, arts & crafts, and a petting zoo. Bewitching and thrilling at every turn, families enjoyed live stage performances, rock-climbing, delicious food from local Los Angeles restaurants, a silent auction, plenty of celebrity sightings and more!

This year Winn Claybaugh, author and Dean and Co-Founder of hair care giant Paul Mitchell’s schools will be honored with the “Humanitarian of the Year” award along with Earl Hightower, Founder, Hightower Associates with the “Excellence in Service” award and Sydney Holland, renowned philanthropist and CEO of Rich Hippie Production with the “Woman of the Year” award. Viola Davis and Sumner Redstone served as Honorary Co-Chairs along with Peggy Albrecht and Michael Hollingsworth.

Friendly House was founded in 1951 and was the first home in the country for women recovering from substance and alcohol abuse and is a model for recovery homes in the United States and Europe. They have successfully treated thousands of women with a success rate of 76% compared to the hospital average of 35%. Awards were given out to recognize individuals who are inspiring and positive role models for young people. They year Roy P. Disney, Chairman, CEO and Founder, The Apogee Companies, will be honored with the Walt Disney Man of the Year Award; Megan Colligan, President of Domestic Marketing and Distribution, Paramount Pictures, will receive the Sherry Lansing Award; and Cynthia Bengtson-Budzyn, Co-Founder, Big Sisters of Los Angeles, is recipient of the Trailblazer Award. Sherry Lansing and Steve Soboroff serve as Honorary Gala Chairs; BBBSLA Guild Members Sandy Bilson and Sarah Purcell, Co-Chair.
