Pro Bowler Montell Owens of Jacksonville Jaguars to Be Guest on Insightful Player TV Talk Show

Montell Owens, Pro  Bowler, Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Running Back  to Guest Star on Insightful Player™ Streaming Video TV Show on MingleMediaTV.com

Tuesday, July 19th 7 PM EST

Watch LIVE here today: http://www.minglemediatv.com/insightfulplayertv.html

Montell Owens NFL Football

Montell Owens NFL Football

Montell Owens, running back and pro bowl special teams star for the Jacksonville Jaguars will be Chrissy Carew’s guest on the Insightful Player TV Show on MingleMediaTV.com (www.minglemediatv.com/insightfulplayertv.html) this Tuesday, July 19 at 7 p.m.

Owens is one of the 32 members of the Insightful Player™ team. To be named to this team, one must be a person of integrity, such as a current or former NFL player, who shares their personal message of hope for the sole purpose of lifting the spirits of all, especially children.

Chrissy Carew, a Master Certified personal and business coach based in Nashua, NH founded Insightful Player™ in April 2010 with a vision of providing an answer to a crucial worldwide calling for messages of hope that provoke positive actions.  “I’m thrilled to have an online show on MingleMediaTV.com where I’m able to interview my Insightful Players like Montell Owens,  Usama Young, Rashied Davis and others,”  said Carew, who serves as the host of the show. Carew was inducted into the International Coaching Federation (ICF) New England Chapter’s newly-established Hall of Fame on June 13.

Montell Owens’ path to the NFL wasn’t easy. He got there through sheer determination and hard work. At Concord High School in Wilmington, Delaware, Montell excelled in academics, music and sports. He was a member of the National Honor Society, a lead trumpet player in the jazz band, and a letterman in football, baseball, and track. As graduation approached, he began to get offers from colleges. The best offer – a full football scholarship – came from a surprising place: The University of Maine. All Montell knew about Maine is that it was cold and nine hours away from home. Still, his parents could not afford to pay for college, and Maine was the opportunity he had been waiting for. There, his running back coach Jeff Cole helped mold him into the player and individual he is today.

On The Insightful Player show, Chrissy Carew will discuss Cole’s influence on Owens, the need to build character in the youth of America, and how Insightful Player teamed with Owens a year ago on his return to Concord H.S. for the 1st Annual Montell Owens Youth Football Camp.

The Insightful Player™ team members are individuals that believed in themselves and relentlessly pursued their most far-reaching dreams, which resulted in a career in the National Football League.  The Insightful Player.com website features the inspirational stories of 32 current and former NFL players, each of whom overcame great obstacles and hardships to become not just fine athletes, but through their values and their life experiences, became extraordinary individuals that serve as an inspiration to us all.

The short-version of each Insightful Player story is available on InsightfulPlayer.com. The full-length version will appear in the Insightful Player book that will be published by Morgan-James Publishing this summer.

The Insightful Player™ is brought to you by Coach Chrissy Carew, Master Certified Personal and Business Coach.  Chrissy has been deeply inspired by her father, the late Coach Walter Carew, Sr.  Her beloved father is in several Halls of Fame as a high school football coach (as well as high school and college player). He used the game as a way to help kids build strong character and teach them valuable life skills.  The Insightful Player™ was created to help make our world a much better place.

John Carter Romances the Hero in All of Us

John Carter It’s been almost 100 years since Edgar Rice Burroughs created the character John Carter and the story “A Princess of Mars” which has lived through time as a truly transmedia tale from novels to comic books, artwork to animation, TV and now Academy Award®–winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton and Walt Disney Pictures bring “John Carter” to life on the silver screen.

This story follows a former military captain, John Carter (played by Taylor Kitsch), who is sick of war, but then finds himself transported to a different world, set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). John Carter finds this new world on the brink of collapse, and during all of the chaos around him, he rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

Like the other movies that Stanton has been part of, Disney/Pixar’s WALL-E (winner of an Academy Award and Golden Globe), and “Finding Nemo” (Academy Award winner), they follow characters who are “out of their element” and face challenges both good and bad during their journey.

“John Carter” is an epic adventure, filled with action, romance and political intrigue with an impressive cast led by Taylor Kitsch (NBC’S “Friday Night Lights”, “X‐Men Origins: Wolverine”) in the title role, Lynn Collins (“50 First Dates,” “X‐Men Origins: Wolverine”) as the warrior princess Dejah Thoris and Oscar® nominee Willem Dafoe (“Spider‐Man,” “Shadow of the Vampire”) as Martian inhabitant Tars Tarkas.

Here are some interesting factoids about “John Carter”

  • Famous for Tarzan: Edgar Rice Burroughs, born in Chicago and is well-known for writing and creating Tarzan—still one of the most successful and iconic fictional creations of all time.
  • “John Carter” is based on Burroughs’ first novel, “A Princess of Mars.”
  • Academy Award®–winning director/writer Andrew Stanton was one of the four screenwriters to receive an Oscar nomination in 1996 for his contribution to “Toy Story,” and went on to receive credit as a screenwriter on subsequent Pixar films “A Bug’s Life,” “Toy Story 2,” and “Monsters, Inc.”
  • Production Designer Nathan Crowley was Oscar®- nominated for both “Dark Knight” and “The Prestige,” and Costume Designer Mayes Rubeo’s work is showcased in “Avatar” and “Apocalypto.”
  • Pulitzer Prize winner, Michael Chabon, is a co-writer on the screenplay.
  • Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino who has worked on Disney•Pixar films “Up” (Oscar® winner, Best Original Score; BAFTA winner, Best Music; Golden Globe® winner, Best Original Score for a Motion Picture; GRAMMY® Award winner, Best Score Soundtrack Album), “Ratatouille” (GRAMMY Award winner, Best Score Soundtrack Album; Annie Award winner, Best Music in an Animated Feature Production; Oscar nomination, Best Original Score) and “The Incredibles” (Annie Award winner, Best Music in an Animated Feature Production; GRAMMY nomination, Best Score Soundtrack Album).

Winnie the Pooh For Summer: Inspired by Three Stories by A.A. Milne

Who doesn’t love Winnie the Pooh, and friends Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Owl, Kanga, Roo—and last, but certainly not least, Eeyore, who has lost his tail. We’re excited to have been invited to screen this wonderful adventure in the Hundred Acre Wood with this new Walt Disney Animation Studio’s feature.

Here’s some interesting factoids about this production:

Veteran Disney animator/storyman/director Burny Mattinson (a key animator on the 1974 short film “Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too!”) serves as senior story artist, with a dynamic young directing duo—Stephen Anderson and Don Hall—at the helm.

  • Co-Directed by Stephen Anderson who also directed animated films “Meet the Robinsons” and “Journey Beneath the Sea,” among others; and he also worked on “Brother Bear” and “The Emperor’s New Groove.”
  • Co-Directed by Don Hall who is a veteran story artist at Walt Disney Animation Studios with credits including “The Princess and the Frog,” “Meet the Robinsons,” “Brother Bear,” “Home on the Range,” “The Emperor’s New Groove” and “Tarzan.”
  • Voices you’ll hear in “Winnie the Pooh”: Craig Ferguson (“The Late Show with Craig Ferguson”), Tom Kenny (“SpongeBob SquarePants”) and Bud Luckey (director of the Pixar short “Boundin’”).
  • Zooey Deschanel (Actress/musician/singer/songwriter) provides the vocals for a special rendition of the beloved “Winnie the Pooh” theme song
  • Where did the name “Winnie the Pooh” come from? Author A.A. Milne’s son’s teddy bear inspired the beloved character. The child named his bear after Winnie, a Canadian black bear from London Zoo.  Pooh was the name of a swan they encountered together.
  • The six spirited new songs for Pooh and his pals, including “The Tummy Song,” “A Very Important Thing To Do,” “Everything Is Honey,” “The Winner Song,” “The Backson Song” and “It’s Gonna Be Great” were written by Tony® Award-winning songwriter Bobby Lopez, and his wife Kristen.

Story Synopsis:

“Ever have one of those days where you just can’t win, Eeyore?” asks Pooh.  Owl sends the whole gang on a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit. It turns out to be a very busy day for a bear who simply set out to find some honey. Inspired by three stories from A.A. Milne’s books in Disney’s classic, hand-drawn art style, “Winnie the Pooh” hits theaters in the U.S. on July 15, 2011.

Four College Students Help Change the World on the Next Insightful Player TV Talk Show

Unity Hoops Basketball

Unity Hoops Basketball

Learn how David Dean, college sophomore, from Unity Hoops Basketball wants to effect change and help Crow Indian Teenagers and their community in Montana –

Find out More about this inspirational story tonight:

Watch LIVE here today: Mingle Media TV

Tuesday, July 5th 7 PM EST

Can four college students help change the world?  A van full of college basketball player’s intent on learning about social change travelled from the East Coast to Montana, as part of Unity Hoops Basketball. David Dean, a college sophomore, will outline the mission of Unity Hoops Basketball when he guests on the Insightful Player online show on MingleMediaTV.com, Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET. Mingle Media TV produces and broadcasts over 40 hours of web series and event coverage each week.

Dean has several passions in life.  A political science major, he’s fascinated with social change.  Since a high school history class, he’s been concerned with the plight of American Indian children growing up on reservations in a culture of poverty, unemployment, and alcoholism. He also loves basketball.  In high school, he was a point guard and captain of his team.  In his freshman year at Guilford, he continued to play basketball earning All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference Academic honors.

And six months ago, he had an idea… While many college students spend their time looking to be hired for a summer internship, David and three college friends have done something else.   They’re creating theirs from thin air.

This spring, David and three colleagues—one woman, three men—have formed Unity Hoops Basketball. Their goal is to work with Crow Indian teenagers, using basketball to help them learn much larger life lessons.

“Unity Hoops was founded as a basketball collective that aims to use our sport as a common language to teach far greater life lessons to young people in need, inspiring them to believe in larger possibilities for themselves, and empowering them to pursue their limitless potential,” said Dean. “We are dedicated to providing the role models, resources and knowledge necessary to instill this self-belief, as well as a deep-seeded understanding that together everyone truly does achieve more.”

Their current mission is focused around helping youth of the Crow Indian Reservation in southern Montana.  In their work on the reservation they are hosted by The Center Pole, a youth outreach center on the reservation run by Peggy White and Susie Kelly.  We are also sponsored by Running Strong for American Youth, a nonprofit located in northern, VA.

Life can be tough for Indian children living on the Crow Reservation south of Billings, Montana.  They grow up in families that are racked by alcoholism and poverty.  75% of the adults are unemployed.  For those who attempt college, there is a 95% attrition rate.

On the Insightful Player show on MongleMediaTV.com Dean will give an in-depth look at the lives of these children that Unity Hoops has worked with; provide an understanding of the universal issues on reservations; give an overview of Unity Hoops philosophy on sport and offer a wish list of donations and other resources that Unity Hoops needs to accomplish its Mission.
