Okay, so I never claimed to be the best interview and film correspondent, (and why MMTVN has professionals) but I was so stoked to interview Graeme Finlayson and Gary Klavans at the Streamy Awards on April 11th. Gary and Graeme were on their way to receive the Silver Lei Award at the 2010 Honolulu Film Festival – and I wanted to go with them!
Even though Graeme and Gary were not nominated for a Streamy, they were so very sweet and gracious to give us some time to find out about their new film “Diamond Confidential” which is done in a film-noir style.
If you like a good mystery the the intrigue and high stakes of “Diamond Confidential” are for you! (and me!)
Here’s a trailer for Diamond Confidential – tell your friends and look for this film:
On January 1st we all take on New Year’s resolutions and on Earth Day many of us try to go green or help the planet by reducing waste, using less water or saying Happy Earth Day on Twitter. The staff at Mingle Media TV has decided to take it a step further and work towards making this 40th celebration of Earth Day one that we celebrate every day with (1) simple thing we “think” about doing – not things we are programmed to do such as recycle.
Check out the Earth Day Headquarters with your family – there’s lots of cool ideas from advocacy to saving water. Explore the site, take the challenge and who knows, we all become a little earth friendly and remember to take time to go outside and “be.”
Share YOUR wish for a Happy Earth Day with us. Let our mother earth know we love her!
Special Message from Jessica – (she is a speaker at the #140Conf in NYC this week)
See you next week for her live show “Are You Marketing to Me“
Mingle Media TV was at the Earth Day on the Promenade celebrating 40 years of Earth Day on Saturday, April 17th, 2010. We were invited to check out the music on the Mamapalooza stage. We had lots of fun participating in the Free to Be Me Drum Circle with Sabina and then listening to Stacy Robin and the Mama Earth Band. Find out more about Mamapalooza at http://www.mamapalooza.com and Stacy Robin at http://www.stacyrobin.com
We’ve all been following the “Food Revolution: With Jamie Oliver” and becoming more aware of what is happening to our children in school with the food provided, we wanted to invite you to join the “Citizen Lobbyist” revolution. (Oh, and if you haven’t seen the Food Revolution – go watch the movie Food Inc. I watched it yesterday and it will open your eyes to why we need to wake up and take action!)
Congress is writing a new law that would help schools provide healthier food for their students. We need your help! Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 21, you can become a citizen lobbyist and call to ask your representative in Washington to support H.R. 4870, the Healthy School Meals Act of 2010.
Will you retweet or repost this message, get the word out to your friends and family and join MMTVN and local student activists for a conference call to learn how to get involved and lobby your Member of Congress. Find out more about this movement by clicking here.
Hear more about the Healthy School Meals Act, why it is so important for the health of America’s children, and how you can ask your Member of Congress to support it by contacting him or her directly on Wednesday, April 21.
We have a voice – let’s use it! The more people who call Congress on April 21, the greater the impact we can have. We need to act now to ensure that Congress enacts provisions in the Child Nutrition Act reauthorization to help schools provide healthy vegetarian options in America’s cafeterias.
Sign up to be a citizen lobbyist and ask your friends and family to join in too! Together we can make a difference for children’s health.
