About Monster University
Ever since college-bound Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) was a little monster, he has dreamed of becoming a Scarer—and he knows better than anyone that the best Scarers come from Monsters University (MU). But during his first semester at MU, Mike’s plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, “Sulley” (voice of John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer. The pair’s out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. To make matters worse, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right. Screaming with laughter and oozing with heart, Disney•Pixar’s “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”), produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”) and features music from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and award-winning composer Randy Newman (“Monsters, Inc.,” “Toy Story 3”). Mingle Media TV and Stephanie Piche from the Red Carpet Report spoke with Jason George, who plays Dominic Taylor, a charming, competitive attorney who works with Savi Davis, played by Alyssa Milano, today about the premiere of Mistresses airing at 10 PM on the ABC Network.
We’ve watch three of the episodes of this new series and have to say that it’s really not what most people think, all of the characters are not “cheaters” but they are all characters that we believe are relatable in their context. Oh, and if this is the first time you’re reading the Red Carpet Report, we don’t share spoilers and are true believers in art is subjective, we get the story, not the gossip. So with that said, below you’ll find a recap of our interview PLUS how to LIVE Tweet tonight with the cast during the premiere, yes, we’ve included their Twitter handles. Before we get started, watch this brief clip and you’ll get a glimpse of Jason then check out our interview below.
Mistresses Trailer
Now that you’ve seen a bit of Jason in action on the set of Mistresses, here’s our interview with him from earlier…
Q. Jason, how did the Mistresses find you?
A. (Laughter…) Yes, I get what you mean, it was pretty random. We were at a birthday party with my kids and I was talking to Rina Mimoun (executive producer of Mistresses) who mentioned she was interested in me for Mistresses but thought I was under contract for another series when my wife said “he’s available.”
Of course, who wouldn’t want to be on this show, playing opposite Alyssa Milano who is ‘mad smart and fun’.
Q. I’ve watched 3 episodes of this series and you an Alyssa have different chemistry with the roles from professional to personal, how do you get into character and play such convincing roles?
A. There’s nothing more fun than to come to set and immediately have a “trust” relationship between you and the actors whom you collaborate with. It’s been great to show up and all’s good on set, when in real life that trust could take a long time to develop… Everyone is professional and easy with each other.
Plus we have a great script and my character is a flirt and Alyssa’s character is safe because she’s married, so its a way of teasing her. But my character pushes harder because she can take it for what it is, flirting until one day when it means something.
There are worse jobs (laughter). But Alyssa is very professional and knows what she’s doing so we have found a rhythm and started dancing and just go with it.
Q. What do you like about your character?
A. He’s a player, but he really isn’t, there’s more substance there, he’s not the player people think he is. He is chosing women that interest him and he wants what’s best for Savannah, maybe the best thing is me? For them, it’s not just a bootie call, there is a selfless element and he won’t go there if its gonna be a problem for Alyssa’s character.
Q. How are you like your character in real life?
A. I am a flirt, my wife will agree, but when we first met, it wasn’t like that. It was back in college at the dorms and I had been having fun with and ran out in the hall and saw her and threw her over my shoulder like King Kong and then threw her on my bed in my dorm room. There I was standing over a beautiful woman (who, I had never spoken to before) and thought, what do I do now, either kiss her or back out like a knucklehead… It was our first encounter, and I backed out. About a year later, I went up to her and asked if she remembered me and asked what would have happened if I kissed you? She said, I could have saved a year!
Mistresses can be a “playbook” for men, (laughs) when you have an attraction, you need to know which way to go. I think this series will be relatable for both men and women.
We really enjoyed speaking with Jason, he’s genuinely a great person and we wish we could have had more time with him, but we promise you won’t be disappointed if you tune in tonight at 10 PM on ABC to watch him and Alyssa Milano (and the other cast members).
Not that we think you shouldn’t tweet to the cast tonight but we recommend DVRing the show too (or you can also watch it tomorrow on Hulu or ABC.com – links below). Don’t miss a thing!

We watch a lot of indie films, shorts, and webseries at Mingle Media TV and love to share and support these projects with our audience. First, we did rush to look at it because we are fans of Lou Diamond Phillips, before we even saw the premise of the story which is typical, unless you don’t know the cast and you spend time looking at the rest of the info to see what it’s about.
We clicked on the link and watched it on YouTube. We’ve embedded it here for you below.
After watching, we wanted to thank the EP and tell them we would share this – but most of all, we read the rest of the story…
Writing for the Actor
“Lucy in the Sky with Diamond” was written for LDP and was sent to him while he was working on the new TV show Longmire (another show we love). Lou was pretty flattered by the gesture of getting a script written just for him and so he said “yes” to the project. (The power of asking for the order – if you don’t you will never get it).
Chuck Norris of Love
You’ve seen the jokes about Chuck Norris…
Chuck Norris’ body guard is protected by Chuck Norris
Chuck Norris doesn’t call the wrong number. You answer the wrong phone.
Chuck Norris has already been to Mars; that’s why there are no signs of life.
Chuck Norris and Superman once fought each other on a bet. The loser had to start wearing his underwear on the outside of his pants.
Chuck Norris can strangle you with a cordless phone.
… and so on. LDP is a man-made of unique blending of ancestries with this father being Scots-Irish and Native American (Cherokee) and his mother of Filipino-Chicnese descent. He has played some very memorable roles in some great movies like La Bamba, Young Guns, Courage Under Fire, Stand and Deliver and oozes cool on and off-screen. We’ve (Red Carpet Report) have interviewed him and find him charming in person, with his family and irresistible. Hence why we watched the short before we read what it was about.
Now LDP is not the only one in this comedy short. It also stars John Patrick Jordan (American Pie, Mad Men) and Brian Thomas Smith (The Big Bang Theory, Happy Endings).
If you haven’t clicked play yet… what are you waiting for? If you have, why haven’t you shared this yet? Oh, good, thanks. We appreciate it. So does Joey (writer/director) of this piece – be sure to do it for Joey too.
Writer and Director Joey Boukadakis graduated from the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California, as well as the Masters of Professional Writing Program, also at USC. He’s written screenplays for Disney and MGM studios and his music videos have played on MTV, VH1, BET, and CMT. His films have screened at Sundance, Vail, San Diego, Boston, St. Louis, Miami, Atlanta, HollyShorts, CineVegas, Palm Springs International, and MethodFest film festivals. Mingle Media TV’s Red Carpet Report with guest host Stephanie Garrett were invited to come out and cover the Red Carpet for “FIRELIGHT” Premiere Event at 20th Century Fox Studios in Century City, CA.
Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jr. (“Jerry Maguire,” “Radio”) stars in a new Hallmark Hall of Fame film, “Firelight,” premiering SUNDAY, APRIL 22 (9:00-11:00, ET) on the ABC Television Network. Darnell Martin (Hallmark Hall of Fame’s “Lost Valentine”) directs from a script by Ligiah Villalobos (“Under the Same Moon”).
Cuba Gooding Jr. plays Dwayne Johnson (“DJ”), a counselor at a youth correctional facility. The incarcerated girls and young women come from troubled – often violent – backgrounds. Many of them belong to gangs and have been involved with illegal drugs – as users and/or dealers. In the words of DJ, “They come in [here] so broken…These are girls who’ve been abused and objectified their whole lives.”
Mingle Media TV and Virsil Mitchell were invited to come out and cover the only George Lucas film “Red Tails” opening night screening in Los Angeles that was attended by original Tuskegee Airmen.
Red Carpet Interviews
Behind the Scenes with George Lucas
The film is an account of the Tuskegee Airmen, an all-black World War II fighter pilot squad. The squadron, which was sent to North Africa and Italy to escort white bomber pilots, consisted of some of the best fighter pilots in the Air Corps.

Mingle Media TV was excited to be on the Cars 2 red carpet premiere to talk to the celebs last Saturday night and to be honest, we were even more excited to be invited to the early screening of this film at the El Capitan Theatre last night. Here’s our review of “Cars 2″ without spoilers…
We’ve been a big fan of Disney forever (this reporter will not admit the year but it is more than 20 years) and found Cars 2 to be even better than Cars. From the moment the movie opened with a very serious mood to the next scene where the mood is comedic to the detail in the animation, music, and realistic scenery surrounding each segment, we found “Cars 2″ to be delightfully engaging. The detail in the characters and their personality, the landscapes and the overall story were captivating. Just imagine Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) traveling around the world and driving on the wrong side of the road in England or driving in Tokyo where the street signs are in Kanji lettering not English. There were lots of kids in the theatre with us last night and we could hear them watching with their eyes and being surprisingly quieter than the adults in the theatre who like us, were laughing out loud and enjoying the ride. In true Disney fashion, this is another movie that transcends age, gender and even geo-location and can be enjoyed by all on planet earth!
Sidebar: Although we enjoyed Cars when it came out, we have to say that Cars 2 is one sequel that will surpass it in so many ways. (Our prediction: it will be a smash hit and be Oscar nominated – and win!)
My son and I started going to movies together when he was really young and we started a tradition to talk about our favorite parts as we left the theatre. As he grew older, this changed up from favorite parts to did you see this or that nuance, that might have been missed and is related to the writer, director, studio, like Marvel movies having Stan Lee make a cameo. Well, here are some fun facts about the film that you can share with your family and friends before or after you see “Cars 2″ that we found interesting about the movie:
Lightning McQueen is voiced by Owen Wilson but is named in memory after Glenn McQueen a Pixar animator who worked on the original “Cars” movie
Lightning McQueen’s “Lightyear” tires are a reference to another Disney Pixar character: Buzz Lightyear
The #95 on Lightning McQueen’s car is in reference to the year “Toy Story” came out 1995 (wow)
Mater is voiced by Larry the Cable Guy and the number A113 is a reference to the CalArts classroom where director John Lasseter, Brad Bird, Pete Docter and Andrew Stanton attended
Finn McMissile is voiced by none other than Michael Caine and his small tailfins are inspired by the late 50′s British sports car called the Peerless GT
Finn McMissile would have been in the first “Cars” movie but was cut out - only to be revived by Lasseter due to his love of spy movies
Holly Shiftwell is voiced by Emily Mortimer and is equiped with all kinds of state-of-the-art gadgetry
Believe it or not, Jeff Gorvette is voiced by and named after NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon
The “Cars 2″ character team built 145 new character models for the film with 781 variants making a total of 926 new characters
The “Cars 2″ film is an International adventure covering Tokyo, Paris, The Riveria, and London – pay attention to the integration of the landscapes, buildings and characters
The PIT lane configuration is based on the Formula 1 track in the Kingdom of Bahrain
If you are a car buff, you’ll also notice that the cars in all of the different locations around the globe match up to the country you find them in
