The X Factor’s Paula Abdul Sizzles in the Latest emmy Magazine

We’ve all danced to Paula’s “Straight Up” music video and watched her on American Idol give hope to artists pouring out their hearts in auditions and during competitions. She’s the one we wished would stay instead of Simon Cowell.

Good News! She’s back and with Simon on The X Factor this fall on FOX.

In the November Issue of emmy® MagazinePaula Abdul talks about joining “The X Factor,” and how she’s excited to be on the show even gives us some insight into her relationship with fellow judge and executive producer Simon Cowell. Don’t worry, she’s in a good place and even reflects on her “American Idol” departure in the article.

If you love hearing about a true Hollywood story, you’ll love reading about how Paul started out as a Laker Girl dance and choreographer during her freshman year in college. That’s when Lake fans Marlon and Jackie Jackson asked her to choreograph the Jacksons’ “Torture” video (1984) which led to her becoming the “go-to” choreographer for the Jackson family.

Read more about Paula and for all you fashionistas out there check out some of the photos of her in the magazine wearing Balmain, Roberto Cavalli, Givenchy and Christian Louboutin to name a few.

Fox, OWN’s  “Most Valuable Players,” Lisa Kudrow’s “Web Therapy,” actor-writer-producer-standup comic Whitney Cummings, the FX series “Rescue Me,” “Torchwood: Miracle Day” star Bill Pullman, Fran Drescher’s series “Happily Divorced,” “The Amazing Race” host Phil Keoghan,  and “Entourage” creator-executive producerDoug Ellin. One last extra highlight that we’d like to share is on Michael J. Fox and how acting has become easier in recent years despite the loss of physical subtlety since being diagnosed with the neurological disorder Parkinson’s – “I don’t have the elasticity of expression. I don’t have a lot of tools that I used to use. But other things have come into those spaces. I have a stillness now in spite of the motion. I have a kind of internal gravitas and perspective that makes me as an actor consider my reactions and consider my course through a scene in a way that I wouldn’t have previously…It’s the gift that keeps on taking, but it has been a gift.”
